About Martin J. Ernst

Since 1998, Martin J. Ernst has gained broad experience in program and project management of big and complex strategic and business-critical initiatives. This includes implementing ERP applications and other standard applications in the public sector as well as in private businesses in Denmark as well as globally. It also includes organisational and process change across countries and departments. The last few years his focus has been on benefit realisation as the trusted advisor for top management (CxOs).

Martin has contributed a number of lectures, articles and webcasts within portfolio management, program management, project management, developing Business Cases and Benefit Management. Martin has been member of the editorial team of the ERP Handbook (which is published by Børsens Ledelseshåndbøger), currently the editor of businesscase.dk and is an Assistant Professor at the IT University of Copenhagen. Martin has performed reviews of more than 200 Business Cases and finished his 2nd. book Business Case 361 (in Danish).

Martin holds a Master of Science from the Technical University of Denmark (1998) and is certified in PRINCE2 and MSP. Together with Klaus Nielsen, Martin has developed the first Business Case certification in Denmark, the DIT Business Case Certified Practitioner certification.

Martin has worked as a management consultant at Accenture, PwC and IBM. Since 2010, Martin has been CEO and founder of the Danish management consultancy firm 1stroke. 1stroke once a year performs a survey that investigates the use of Business Case and benefit management within the Danish public sector as well as private companies. 2014 was the third year this survey was performed.
